About
My work takes technological approaches to drawing, painting, printmaking and photography. I’m interested in processes which involve randomness and automation, and the point at which a signal can be discerned from noise.
I was born in Dumfries, Scotland in 1985.
I studied Fine Art at Leeds University, graduating in 2007. At this time, I was painting with wax, but basing these paintings on generative art algorithms – performed with dice and squared paper instead of an electronic computer.
I lived and worked in Toronto in 2009-2010, where some great introductory workshops at Interaccess gallery/studio got me started on the use of electronics and programming for my projects.
I am currently based in London.
